Singapore

Singapore, The land of the lion with” Singa ” meaning Lion and ” pura ” meaning city is defiantly one of the cleanest cities I have been too.

It has dramatically advanced in technology and its standard of living. It is however a very small country but with its shopping malls and Sentosa island theme parks it certainly makes for a nice vacation spot.

I visited Singapore on the 26th December 2010 and was there for four days. I checked out most of its popular spots and loved Singapore at nights. The city truly lights up at night.

While I was exploring the city I came across a place called as the Marina bay. Its lovely walking here. Everything is well thought off. There are double railings by the lake so that people are safe and that no accidents occur. People here are free to do many activities such as roller blading on the side walk, running, walking… It truly is a happening locality in Singapore.

This picture was also shot from the Marina bay, by the railings. It shows a part of the Singapore skyline just before the on-set of night! The skyline slowly starts to light up!

Every city has at least one feature that defines it. It could be a place, a statue, a monument but more importantly, its usually something that cry’s out the city’s name… and nothing cry’s out louder in Singapore than the Merlion statue of Singapore.

One of its more recent landmarks has been its Skypark hotel; with its uniquely designed architecture it truly is a site in the constantly changing Singapore skyline. It happens to also be famous for its exotic casino.

I am usually drawn towards tall structures. It gives me the opportunity to go all the way to the top and get a nice view. The skypark hotel has an awesome view, especially at night!

If you can afford it, staying a weekend here would be amazing. It would be hard to resist an infinity pool overlooking the city fifty-five stories high!

The Sentosa Island of Singapore is largely famous for its theme parks and unique rides, I however was blown away with a show that they hold by the shore. Its called songs of the sea, It’s a must watch musical play and is complimented with breath taking light effects.

Singapore also has one of the largest bird parks in the world; The Jurong Bird Park is filled with an assortment of birds from all over the world!

On the whole, my trip to Singapore was memorable, I found comfortable affordable accommodation. Transportation was easy using the metro systems; food of any kind is available. I personally liked the local cuisine. And if you travel with family as I did, your gauranteed to have a good time!
